Claudia wrote a summary of Akeelah and the Bee, which we really loved. There’s a bad cold going around with a very sore throat and Béla and I had the worst of it yesterday, so hooray for saving up special movies for special days.

She missed one letter in “soliterraneous” but that she recalled that much from the film made me happy. She was vibing with Akeelah in a big way.

This morning Béla gave me a painstaking tour of this chicken frittata he made, while wearing a backwards David Byrne shirt. Then he wrote a letter to his incarcerated penpal, including in it the five-dollar bill he’d most recently gotten from the tooth fairy. If that isn’t Béla in a nutshell I don’t know what is.
