day 21

I keep seeing posts about how terribly difficult it is for parents to set up their kids’ online learning everyday. The technical difficulties. The short sessions.

The privilege.

If parents who are farming out graded education to internet sessions now, dare to talk about the time they “homeschooled”, heaven help them if they do it in earshot of me.

The empathy I have today has been saved exclusively for those who need it and deserve it.

The chortling of my daughter as she reads in her bedroom just brought my soul back into my body.

This picture of my friend’s son (still!) wearing MY old ralph bakshi LOTR shirt (which had been in my Easter basket, once upon a time) is the best thing that I saw all weekend.
